Summer dormancy can be confusing to some when the majority of the country thinks of summer as the "green time".
Will just like a tons of plants go dormant in the winter in large parts of the world and are even celebrated for their seasonal beauty there are some regions where the plants need a beauty rest in the summertime and they aren't any less beautiful just because some imaginary force decided summer is supposed to be green.
So don't nap shame! If these plants need a break to beat the heat of summer then let's celebrate their strength in knowing when to take a rest!
Don't we all secretly wish we could do the same? I think humans are just jealous of dormancy and hibernation traits in other species. But such are the evolutionary cards and we don't get to take months long naps during difficult times. However, we can admire and apply this trait of our neighborhood plants and take the lesson of resting when we need to.
Besides just look at how beautiful this Buckwheat was in the SoCal sunset yesterday! If you are a person who likes seasons well this is one of the biggest ones in this regionl! The turning colors of the Buckwheat ♥️
